A major road in South Lanarkshire was closed for several hours on Wednesday after a four-vehicle crash brought traffic to a standstill.
The A71 was shut between the B7078 junction and Stonehouse from around 4.30pm, with drivers warned to avoid the area and find alternative routes.
The closure caused significant disruption during the evening rush hour, with commuters and local drivers forced to reroute as emergency services dealt with the scene.
Police and recovery teams worked to clear the road following the collision, though the full extent of any injuries was not immediately confirmed.
