West Yorkshire Police are appealing for help identifying a man they believe could assist with their investigation into an attempted burglary in Dalton last month.
The incident took place on 25 July, and officers have now released an image of a man they want to speak to in connection with the case. Detectives are urging anyone who recognises the individual to come forward as soon as possible.
Dalton, a residential area in Kirklees, has seen police step up their public appeals in recent months as part of broader efforts to tackle burglary and property crime across West Yorkshire. Releasing images of persons of interest is a tactic officers regularly use when other lines of inquiry have been exhausted or when a quick identification could prove crucial to an investigation.
Anyone who recognises the man pictured, or who has any information about the attempted burglary, is asked to contact West Yorkshire Police directly. Information can also be passed anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
Police have not released details about exactly what happened during the attempted break-in or whether any property was damaged, but they have confirmed no entry was gained at the address.
