Police are investigating whether the same gang of burglars is behind two separate high-value housebreakings in Aberdeen, after the same SUV was spotted at both scenes.
The break-ins took place in the King’s Gate and Newburgh Road areas of the city, and detectives believe the incidents are connected. Both locations are well-heeled residential neighbourhoods, and investigators think the same vehicle was used by the culprits during both raids.
King’s Gate is one of Aberdeen’s most sought-after addresses, a tree-lined street of large sandstone properties in the west end of the city. Newburgh Road sits further out, a quieter stretch where sizeable family homes back onto open countryside. Neither area is the kind of place that sees much crime, which makes the break-ins all the more alarming for residents.
Officers have not yet confirmed exactly what was taken during either raid, but the fact that police are describing them as high-value housebreakings suggests the thieves knew what they were looking for and where to find it.
