Following an investigation by South Wales Police, two Cardiff men have been imprisoned for grooming and exploiting a vulnerable teenage girl in 2021.
Azad Ahmed, 50, from Grangetown, received a 16-year sentence. He was convicted of two counts of raping a girl aged 13-15, one count of an adult engaging in penetrative sexual activity with a girl aged 13-15, and one count of arranging or facilitating travel for exploitation.

In her victim impact statement, the teenager described her ordeal as a “living hell” that left her feeling like a “shattered shell” of her former self. She stated, “I was subjected to horrific things; my body was not my own… They have stripped me of everything that made me human.” She added that the trauma has left her with severe anxiety and depression, emphasizing that her voice needed to be heard.
In addition to their 16-year prison terms, both men have been issued lifetime restraining orders to protect the victim.
