Four Hospitalised After Two-Car Crash On A9 Near Inverness

Four people have been taken to hospital following a two-car crash on the A9 near Inverness on Tuesday afternoon.

The collision happened just before 2pm close to Daviot, a small village sitting south of Inverness along one of Scotland’s busiest trunk roads.

Emergency services attended the scene after the two vehicles were involved in the smash, and four people were subsequently transported to hospital for treatment. The severity of their injuries has not yet been confirmed.

The A9 is no stranger to serious road incidents, and the stretch between Inverness and Perth has long been a concern for road safety campaigners. Efforts to dual the carriageway along its full length have been a subject of ongoing political debate in Scotland for years, with progress on the project moving slowly despite repeated calls to speed things up.

Police Scotland is expected to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. Anyone who witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage from the area around that time is encouraged to get in touch with officers.
