Jealous Husband Tracked Down Estranged Wife On Night Out Before Killing Her

A man has been found guilty of murdering his estranged wife after tracking her down while she was on a night out with friends.

Raymond Williams killed Tania Williams after locating her whereabouts and confronting her during what should have been an ordinary evening out. The jury returned a guilty verdict following the trial, which heard how Williams hunted down his estranged partner before carrying out the fatal attack.

The case has shone a spotlight once again on the dangers faced by women who leave or separate from partners, with Tania having already put distance between herself and her husband before he tracked her down.

Friends who were with Tania on the night would have had no reason to expect the evening would end in tragedy. The group were simply out together when Williams, refusing to accept the separation, located his wife and launched the attack that would cost her her life.

Authorities confirmed Williams was found guilty of murder following the conclusion of proceedings. The verdict brings some measure of justice for Tania and her loved ones, though nothing can undo the loss her family and friends have been left to carry.

The case is a stark reminder of how separation from a controlling or dangerous partner does not always mean safety. Domestic abuse charities have long warned that the period after a woman leaves a relationship can be among the most dangerous times she faces, with some partners becoming more volatile rather than accepting the end of the relationship.

Williams now faces sentencing following the guilty verdict.
