A brand new stage musical based on the classic 1984 film The Karate Kid is heading to Cardiff, and the actor taking on the iconic role of Daniel is doing it all for the very first time.
Gino Ochello is making his professional acting debut in The Karate Kid – The Musical, stepping into the shoes of Daniel LaRusso, the role that made Ralph Macchio a household name four decades ago. For a debut, it doesn’t get much bigger than this.
The show is set to visit the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff, bringing with it the full works – live music, choreography, and of course the story that generations of fans already know by heart. The underdog kid, the wise mentor, the bullies, and that unforgettable crane kick.

Honestly didn’t know karate kid was getting the musical treatment but fair play, Cardiff’s a decent shout for it. Hope the star brings some proper energy to it, could be a right laugh if they pull it off.
