Six Men Discovered Hidden Inside Shipping Container At Rosslare Europort

Six men have been found inside a shipping container at Rosslare Europort in Co Wexford, gardaí have confirmed.

The discovery was made at the busy ferry port, prompting an immediate investigation by gardaí into the circumstances of how the men came to be concealed inside the container.

Officers were alerted after the men were located at the port, which serves as one of Ireland’s main entry points for freight and passenger traffic arriving from Britain and mainland Europe.

All six men were taken from the scene following the discovery. Gardaí are now working to establish how the men entered the container, where they travelled from, and how long they had been inside before being found.

Rosslare Europort has been the scene of similar incidents in recent years, with migrants and stowaways occasionally discovered in freight containers and vehicles passing through the port. The port handles a significant volume of trade and travel, making it a known route for people attempting to enter Ireland without documentation.

No arrests have been announced at this stage and gardaí say the investigation is ongoing. Authorities have not yet released details on the nationalities of the six men or their current condition, though it is understood they were conscious when discovered.

The case is being handled by local gardaí in Wexford, with the investigation in its early stages.
