The people of Blaenau Gwent are paying their respects to one of the area’s most dedicated public servants, after the death of former council leader and Labour stalwart Barrie Sutton was announced on September 16.
Sutton, who also holds the distinction of being Blaenau Gwent’s last mayor, spent decades serving his community through local politics and was widely regarded as one of the most genuine and committed figures the area had seen in public life.
