Irish racing driver Alex Dunne has delivered another impressive performance on the international stage, claiming second place in the Formula 2 feature race at the Spanish Grand Prix in Madrid.
The young Offaly driver pushed hard throughout the race at the Madring street circuit but ultimately had to settle for the runner-up spot behind Sweden’s Dino Beganovic, who dominated from start to finish to take a lights-to-flag victory.
Beganovic was simply untouchable on the day, controlling the race from pole and never really giving his rivals a sniff. But Dunne showed real class and composure to hold on for second, banking crucial championship points in what is shaping up to be a strong season for the Irish talent.
